Sükhbaatar Square (a.k.a Genghis Khan Square)

Sükhbaatar Square is the epicenter of Ulaanbaatar. It features an equestrian statue of the revolutionary hero Sukhbaatar and, since 2006, a colossal statue of Genghis Khan surrounded by his son Ögedei and his grandson Kublai (the first foreign Emperor of China) adorning the steps of the Government Palace.

This iconic square serves as a symbol of Mongolia's rich history and the legacy of its great leaders. It is a place where past and present converge, with the statues paying homage to both the revolutionary spirit of Sukhbaatar and the legendary figure of Genghis Khan.

Visiting Genghis Khan Square provides a sense of awe as you witness the grandeur of the statues and absorb the historical significance they represent. It is a must-visit destination for those seeking to immerse themselves in Mongolia's cultural heritage and appreciate the remarkable figures who have shaped its identity.
